What Lasers Can't Do Alone

Tethered rolling scars need subcision to release the bands pulling them down. Narrow ice pick scars need TCA CROSS or punch excision, because laser energy can't reach their base. This is why lasers usually come after those steps in an acne scar treatment plan.

How We Choose

We weigh up your scar types, skin type, how much downtime you can manage and how many sessions you are comfortable with. Deeper isn't always better: in darker skin, a gentler device used more often can give a better result with less risk.

Common Questions

Comparing Acne Scar Lasers: Common Questions

What is the best laser for acne scars?

There isn't one best laser. CO2 is the strongest, but erbium, RF microneedling and pico each suit different scars and skin types.

Is CO2 or erbium better for acne scars?

CO2 gives more tightening for deeper scars. Erbium usually heals a little faster and suits shallow to moderate scarring.

Is RF microneedling a laser?

No. It uses radiofrequency energy through fine needles, but it is used in a similar way for scars and texture.

Which option has the least downtime?

Pico laser and RF microneedling, though they usually need more sessions.

Can different lasers be combined?

Yes. Plans often combine devices, along with subcision or TCA CROSS.

How do I know which is right for me?

A consultation with side-lighting assessment of your scars and skin type is the best way to decide.
