How We Work

Who We Are

DERM Skin Specialists is a specialist dermatology practice on Logan Road in Mount Gravatt, about 15 minutes' drive from the Brisbane CBD. It was founded by dermatologist Dr Mitch Robinson and is home to three specialist dermatologists, a GP and a team of Registered Nurses.

We see a broad range of medical, surgical, laser and cosmetic skin concerns, from skin checks and skin cancer surgery to acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss and pigmentation.

Procedures and Laser in the Same Clinic

Our clinic has its own procedure theatre and laser suite, so skin cancer surgery, laser treatments and follow-up reviews can usually happen in the same place as your consultation.

A patient coordinator is your point of contact from booking through to follow-up.

Our Specialist Dermatologists

All three are Fellows of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD), which means they have completed specialist training in dermatology. You can ask for a particular dermatologist, or for the first available appointment.

Who are the dermatologists at DERM Skin Specialists?

Our dermatologists are Dr Mitch Robinson (our founder), Dr Emily Shao and Dr Benny Yau. All three are FACD specialist dermatologists.

Can I see a dermatologist without a referral?

Yes. You can book directly with us. With a referral from your GP or another specialist, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate for your specialist consultation.

How much does it cost to see a dermatologist?

Specialist dermatologist consultations at DERMSS start from $395, and GP skin checks from $195. See fees.

Do you bulk bill?

No. DERMSS is a private billing practice, so consultation fees apply to all doctor appointments. With a valid referral, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate for specialist consultations.

How long is the wait to see a dermatologist?

Most new patients are seen within two weeks. You can ask for a particular dermatologist, or for the first available appointment with any of our dermatologists.

Can I see a female dermatologist?

Yes. Dr Emily Shao is one of our three dermatologists, and specialist skin checks are available with her. Call 07 3487 1414 to book with her.
