Who Is Dr Benny Yau?
Dr Benny Yau is a specialist dermatologist and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD). He consults at DERM Skin Specialists in Mount Gravatt, on Brisbane's southside.
Born in Brisbane, Dr Yau was awarded the Kossard Prize in Dermatopathology in his dermatology fellowship examination. Dermatopathology is the study of skin samples under the microscope, which is how skin cancers and many rashes are confirmed.
Before dermatology, he worked in surgical specialties. His career has taken him from Far North Queensland to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne and St George's Hospital in London.
